Cedarwood essential oil is one of the most comforting scents we carry. It is the smell of seasoned wood, sharpened pencils and a cabin in the cold – warm, dry and reassuring. If you want a scent that makes a room feel grounded, this is it.
What cedarwood smells like
Dry, soft and woody, with a faint sweetness and a balsamic edge. It is gentle rather than sharp – more of a backdrop than a statement, which is exactly what makes it so useful in blends.
Simple ways to use it
- Diffuse it on a cold evening for a warm, settled atmosphere – 4 to 6 drops.
- Tuck a scented pad (a drop or two on cotton) into a wardrobe or drawer.
- Add it to a carrier oil (about 2%) as a soft, woody body oil base.
Patch test before skin use, dilute properly, and keep it away from the eyes.
What cedarwood pairs with
- With lavender for a calm, clean-cabin feel.
- With bergamot to lift the wood with bright citrus.
- With rose to give a floral a warm, grounded base.
Cedarwood is the quiet anchor in a blend – it makes everything else feel rounder. Explore the full range in the shop, or read more on the blog.
